Grundig IT is comprised of a collection of hard-working and talented individuals who are passionate about technology. It goes without say that technology is at the core of our business, but our organization prides ourselves on the high level of customer support we provide and the relationships we have built with our clientele. Our team is made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences, and as the newest member to Grundig IT, I would like to share a little about myself and what it’s like working here.
Prior to joining the Grundig IT team, I owned and operated a real estate appraisal company. Throughout my appraisal career, I was responsible for every aspect of daily operations, one of which was troubleshooting and maintaining the software, systems, and network in my small office. Over the course of time and troubleshooting various IT related issues, I realized that I preferred working with technology over real estate appraisal. With my mind made up, I did what any sane person would do, I closed my successful appraisal business and went back to college to pursue a bachelors in Information Technology with an emphasis in software.
Prior to starting my college coursework, I considered myself to be fairly tech-savvy person, but I quickly realized I had a lot more to learn. My formal education exposed me to a wide array of technologies and gave me a better understanding of how things “work under the hood”. I studied a range of topics from desktop and server administration to software development and information security, just to name a few. In addition to earning my bachelor’s degree, I also obtained a number respected industry certifications some of which include CompTIA’s A+, Net+, Sec+, Project+. Altogether, my studies for these certifications covered a systems administrator level of knowledge and equipped me with the understanding to tackle practically any technical ecosystem .
The combination of my previous professional and technical experience blended with my formal education, laid a solid foundation to begin working at Grundig IT. Our business services a diverse set clientele ranging from CPA’s and doctor’s offices to engineering firms and large industrial companies. The variety of our client base has our team working with an assortment of different hardware and software system. The technical challenges we face change on a day to day basis. One day we could be involved in the simple task of setting up new workstations, installing software, or troubleshooting minor issues. The following day we could be knee deep in research trying to resolve conflicts in complex corporate networks, or finding out how to integrate legacy equipment and software with modern technologies.
The variety of clientele and technologies that we service make for an interesting and enriching work environment. Since I have joined the Grundig IT team and have been exposed to a plethora of different software, systems, and networks, I have become technically fluent on a whole another level. The owner of the company, Tom, does a great job teaching, promoting professional growth, and rewarding his team for a job well done. I feel very fortunate to be part of a great team that enjoys making technology work!
